Have you thought of or wondered about the person or family from whom you’ve been separated from by adoption?

Have you ever asked yourself:

  • Who am I?
  • What is my family medical history?
  • Who do I look like?
  • Why have I always felt "different"?
  • Did my birth mother love me?
  • Does she think of me on my birthday?
  • Do I have sisters and brothers?
  • What is my nationality?
  • Why was I given up for adoption?
  • If I search, will I be disloyal to my adopted parents?

If you answered Yes to any of these questions then TIPS is the right choice for you. My name is Cindy Soper and I am the founder and operator of TIPS. I can honestly say that I am not your ordinary private investigator. I go above and beyond the call of duty. My approach differs from that of other investigators in one important way: I don’t just complete a search and send out my bill—far from it.

Investing not only my time and energy in each search, I also puts my heart into it and I remain involved—from both a practical and emotional perspective—from start to finish. It is this personal involvement which I believe sets me apart from others in my field and I am one of the lucky few who can honestly claim to love what I do. It is this genuine desire to help people that has led me to become a private investigator, specializing in helping all parties affected by adoption.

Whenever desired and possible, I facilitate and participate in the first meeting between the client and the subject of the search and I find this to be one of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of my job. The reunion process is a daunting and emotional experience and most people find it reassuring to know that they have a caring professional waiting in the wings to lend some guidance as it is needed. I have come to understand the needs of both the adoptees and birth families that I have been asked to find. I am sensitive to all the parties in the adoption trade.

Despite the fact that it could ultimately put me out of business, I would like nothing better than to see the stringent secrecy surrounding birth records come to an end. I believes that adult adoptees have the right to know their birth families and that they should have access to the same information that everyone else has.

The fact remains, however, that legislative bodies in far too many of our fifty states do not share these sentiments. Individuals who have a need to find family members, of which adoption has separated them from, should not allow antiquated public policies to deter them from initiating a search.

A specialist in adoption searches, I am committed—not only to helping bring families together but also, to accomplishing this in a compassionate, caring way to ensure the best possible reunion experience. In order to be successful in your adoption reunion, you must take the first step and fill out my simple questionnaire form. I can then assess your case and will personally contact you to discuss your search options.

Because I know and understand the personal and emotional nature of your decision to search, I will always treat you and whatever information you provide with compassion, understanding, and thoughtfulness.
